Cardiological exam

Cardiological exam

What is a cardiology examination and why is it performed?

A cardiology examination assesses the function and health of the heart. It is intended for individuals who experience chest pain, heart palpitations, high blood pressure, rapid fatigue, difficulty breathing, or have a family history of heart disease.

The examination can also be performed preventively, for the timely detection of possible heart conditions.

What’s included in the review?

  • Detailed discussion about symptoms and risk factors (smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol)
  • Physical examination and blood pressure measurement
  • ECG recording
  • Recommendation for additional diagnostics (cardiac ultrasound, 24-hour Holter ECG, laboratory analyses) and therapy

Preparation for the examination

  • Bring previous medical reports and earlier ECG recordings
  • If you are on medication, please bring a list of the drugs you are taking.
