Education
Dr. Snežana Rakić was born on November 18, 1962, in Zemun.
She is fluent in English and Italian.
Education
She completed primary school and the 12th Belgrade Gymnasium, as a recipient of the Vuk Karadžić diploma.
In the academic year 1980/81, she enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade and graduated in May 1986 with an average grade of 9.25.
From 1981 to 1986, she worked as a demonstrator at the Institute of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, and published student papers in the journal Medicinski podmladak.
She enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade.
She defended her Master's thesis in [year], on the topic: “The role of urinary estriol and human placental lactogen in patients with hypertensive syndrome in pregnancy in relation to fetal condition at birth”.
She passed her specialist examination in gynecology and obstetrics in March 1994 with excellent success.
She defended her doctoral dissertation in [year], on the topic: “Neurological development of the fetus and methods for its evaluation during intrauterine life”, earning the title of Doctor of Medical Sciences.
She underwent professional development at the University of Illinois (1995 and 1999, Department of Human Reproduction) and at the Clinic for Feto-Maternal Medicine, University Hospital Hamburg (2000).
She has been a member of the Interdepartmental Committee of SANU for Human Reproductive Biology since 1999.
Work Experience

1997–2001. – Head of the Maternity Ward at GAK Narodni front.
2001–2007. – Head of the Cesarean Section Department.
Since [year], she has again been the Head of the Maternity Ward.
Since October 2013, she has held the position of Acting Director of GAK Narodni front.
She was elected assistant professor for the subject Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade , and re-elected in 2001 and 2005.
She served as secretary of the Yugoslav Association for the Application of Ultrasound in Biology, Veterinary Medicine, and Medicine, secretary of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Section of the Serbian Medical Society (SLD), and president of the Perinatal Medicine Section of the Serbian Medical Society (SLD) (2000–2004).
