- Born in 1964 in Belgrade, grew up in Mladenovac, where he completed primary and secondary education.
- National and regional expert in the field of interventional pediatric cardiology and non-invasive cardiological procedures (TTE, TEE, fetal echocardiography, ergometry).
Education
- Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1989 at the University of Belgrade with an average grade of 9.11.
- Specialization in pediatrics – 1995.
- Master's thesis (1996): Monitoring the natural course of disease in children with complete atrioventricular block.
- Doctoral dissertation (2003): Therapeutic and prognostic significance of anatomical and functional changes in the heart after correction of Tetralogy of Fallot.
- Subspecialty in cardiology – 2017.

Memberships and Roles
- Representative of Serbia in AEPC (European Association for Paediatric Cardiology) since 2011.
- President of the International Association of Preventive Pediatrics.
- President of the medical commission of the budget fund for referring children for treatment abroad (since 2015).
- Recipient of plaques from the Serbian Medical Society (2013, 2017) and recognition for contribution in the fight against COVID-19 (2022).
Work Experience
- Employed at the Institute for Health Protection of Mother and Child of Serbia 'Dr Vukan Čupić' since 1990.
- Since 1995, he has been working in the department for the treatment of heart and blood vessel diseases.
- Head of department (since 2005), manager of the Pediatric Clinic (since 2014), deputy director (2016–2024), and then elected as acting director of the Institute.
Clinical Experience
- One of the leading regional experts in interventional pediatric cardiology.
- Over 25 years, he has performed about 2500 heart catheterizations, including 1200 interventions, such as:
- closure of ASD, VSD, PDA
- embolization of pathological blood vessels
- balloon valvuloplasty
- balloon atrial septostomy
- stenting of aortic coarctation
- stenting of narrowed pulmonary arteries
- Expert in non-invasive diagnostics as well: TTE, TEE, fetal echocardiography, ergometry.
Educational Work
- First elected as an assistant at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade in 2000, and in 2021 as a full professor.
- Head of the Department of Palliative Medicine (2012–2024), and since 2024, head of the Department of Pediatrics.
- Mentor for subspecialty training to doctors from Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Šabac, Čačak, and Belgrade.
- Mentor for three defended doctoral dissertations + three more in the final stage.
Scientific Work
- Author and co-author of 53 SCI papers (cumulative IF > 100).
- Project leader at the Faculty of Medicine.
- Project coordinator for palliative care of pediatric patients.
