What is an ECG Holter monitor and why is it performed?

An ECG Holter is a 24-hour recording of heart activity during daily activities. It is used to detect arrhythmias that are not registered on a standard ECG, episodes of rapid or slow heart rate, as well as for fainting and heart palpitations.

 

What’s included in the review?

  • Placement of electrodes and a small recording device
  • Continuous ECG recording over 24 hours
  • Analysis of the recorded data and a written report by a cardiologist
